  New Delhi pronunciation is the capital city of India. It serves as the centre of the Government of India and the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. New Delhi is situated within the metropolis of Delhi. It is one of the nine districts of Delhi Union Territory. The total area of the city is 42.7 km2. New Delhi hosts 134 foreign embassies/high commissions.  
     
  Summer : The climate of the city is hot and humid in the summers with temperature ranges from 41° to 20° c.  
     
  Monsoon : Monsoon season starts from July and lasts to September. Medium to heavy rainfalls are recorded here annually.  
     
  Winter : The winters are quite cold with temperature dropping as low as 7 °C. The cold wave from the Himalayan region makes winters very chilly.  
     
  Clothing : Delhi is extremely hot in summers so wear cotton clothes during this season is best choice whereas winters are very cold and chilly so deep woollens are advisable.
