Jyotirmath also called Jyotir Math and Joshimath, is a popular hill station and a municipal board in Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is home to one of the four cardinal pithas established by Adi Shankara. Joshimath is situated in the nest of Himalaya on route from Haridwar to the Hindu sacred shrine of badrinath. It is also the junction point for people visiting Auli, one of the best skiing spots in India. |
